Retrystorm works without an account. Signing in adds saved progress across devices, a public profile and the mock interview features. This page says what is stored and who sees it.

What stays in your browser

Lessons, the simulator and your progress run in your browser. Without an account, your progress is kept in your browser's local storage on your device and is not sent to us. The only thing recorded about anonymous use is the daily count of errors.

What we store

• Errors. Counts of browser errors and failed requests per day, with no personal details.

Nothing about anonymous visits is recorded: there is no tracking of visitors who are not signed in.

If you sign in with GitHub:

• Account. We store your GitHub login, avatar and primary verified email address. The email is used to send one welcome message. Nothing else is read from your GitHub account.
• Progress and activity. Your chapters, answers, streak and review history are saved so they follow you between devices, along with the days you visited.
• Public profile. If you turn it on, your login, avatar, streak and badge are visible at /u/<login>. It is off until you choose.
• Mock interviews. The brief, your messages, your design notes, the interviewer's replies and the review are stored with your account so you can see past attempts.

Who processes it

• Cloudflare hosts the site and stores account data in its database, and sends email.
• Anthropic receives the text of a mock interview or review (your messages and design notes) so its model can play the interviewer and write the review. Anthropic's terms apply to that data.
• GitHub handles sign-in.
• A payment provider processes payments for passes, if you buy one. We do not see your card details.

We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party advertising or tracking scripts.

Cookies

One cookie keeps you signed in (gl_session), and a short-lived one protects the sign-in step itself. Your browser's local storage holds your progress and settings. There are no advertising cookies.

Your choices

You can clear your browser storage at any time. To have your account and its stored data deleted, or to ask what is stored about you, message us through the contact page from the GitHub account you used and we will do it.

If this page changes in a way that matters, the date above changes with it.
